perfect laundry day

In honour of haiku friday...

gentle breeze wafting
textured sun grazes white sheets
perfect laundry day

...now if technology could only allow me to share with you the wonderful smell of fresh laundry right off the clothesline.

I love all the textures found in those sheets......I'm all about texture today?!?!

Amazing how even laundry can look good if you take good photographs. I was composing Haikus myself early this morning!

Beautiful pictures with small materials... The blue tones you get are so fresh.

If only I could be as inspired about laundry...Although you did evoke a memory of playing in/around the sheets hanging on the line with my sister when we were little...they do smell wonderful! I have always loved the stiff texture of sheets dried on a line.

ww...thanks for bringing my attention to haiku fridays!

robyn...would love to hear one of your haikus! Maybe next friday?

cécile...thanks for visiting and commenting. I've enjoyed your comments over at thinker's blog! Come again!

notmassproduced...funny, at first glance Jerzy thought they were arctic landscapes as well. Glad you could "smell" them despite technology's limitations.

ronna...you never know! Who would have thought we'd be blogging 20 years ago!

vanessa...yes, last night it was bliss sliding under those nice stiff and fresh-smelling sheets.

jo...I love your playful haiku. Yes, it's official (wayfaring wanderer has been doing it for awhile). I'll check out your blog next friday...and every day before then too :)

kate, i'm pretty sure i can smell them!!

did you see the movie 'harold and maude'? if so, do you remember maude's smelling machine? she holds it up to harold's nose so he can smell different things... the one i distinctly remember is 'snow falling in new york city'. i've always thought a machine like that would be wonderful. and i always remember the look on ruth gordon's face as she's describing her machine to bud cort. : )

gwen...and I'm sure the hippocampus is involved in allowing you to do that! Your last post was fascinating!

lynne...thanks so much for reminding me about "Harold and Maude". Although I saw it years ago in the late seventies or early eighties and absolutely adored it, I've forgotten details. Time to re-visit it! And I don't know what snow falling in new york city smells like by experience but I imagine it smells like snow falling in montreal and that is a magical smell!
