Kate - OMG! - you saw this through your porch screen? - man oh man - it's beautiful - I have to work harder at getting my 'porch eyes' on! - right now I see a lawn that is in desperate need of being mowed and oh, yah, there are some pretty leaves laying about - okay, I will look at those, but the lawn is poking up through them - alas
this is my favorite porch image yet... they do look like water lilies, and that soft grey screen... the eyes aren't quite sure what to think! but they smile! and your haikus are always so good! i'm practicing...
jeane...the geranium is actually inside the porch sitting on the sill against the screened window. All my porch inspirations are taken without setting foot outside! There's so much to see on the porch. And more outside! Happy mowing to you!
marlana...thanks. As you know, simple is my middle name! Except when it comes to my neuroses!
gwen...yes, the screen does add some interesting texture, especially with the light coming in.
jo...I will watch for some haikus by you. I have a feeling you will take to them like a duck to water!
lynne...I'll watch for yours too. There's something about haikus that are so satisfying. For me it's kind of like a wisp of emotion or a mood or something only slightly tangible, released with the right words in the right tempo in the right order. Very satisfying indeed.
kate...hey, that's a good idea. Maybe I can turn it into a textile!
robyn...yes, porch waterlilies floating on sunlight!
Kate I love this haiku and the beautiful geraniums.... Yes please, make it into a textile. I would love some fabric like that. Your haiku are beautiful, thanks for sharing. I think this is the best one yet. I would love to record it in my quote book if that was ok by you? A wonderul post about our simple garden variety geranium.

The composition of the geranium leaves is as sweet and simple as your Haiku.
When I first saw this it appeared to me to be painting on twill.. then I realized it was the screen...
The light is immense. The life is immense.
I never knew about Haiku and have been following yours.
I will have a try.
