In today's show and tell post on "the pulse", I shared my wings again because they are such treasured objects. Here are some details...

Kate, I have just finished clicking on each image, the pattern is amazing...
These wings are resting with you, they have a shrine like stillness and beauty to them...love how they flew into your life...

I think I know where 1890's fashion got its inspiration. I once saw a fancy taffeta dress with a very elaborate, ruffled bustle. I'm sure feathers like those must have been what the seamstress was trying to copy. Those photos are captivating.

Amazing photographs, Kate! Jo says it all..."they have a shrine like stillness and beauty". The way they speak to you, the fact that you treasure them, shines through in the photographs.

jo...I like the thought of the wings resting with me. Thanks for that thought.

shayla...you're right! Those bustles do rather resemble the feathers. Yet another inspiration from nature.

robyn...gratifying that my feeling for them shines through in the photos. Thanks for the comment.

lynne...I know you would treasure them!

gwen...yes, that's the amazing thing about them. That they are intact. I have collected many feathers in my day but none in their intact state. It gives them an awesome power.

diana...thanks!

jeane...they do have a way of touching you don't they. Pure beauty.

I think I like the story behind the wings as much as the wings themselves - treasured objects and the ways they enter our lives - hmmm, sounds like a good project.

kathy...it does sound like a good project! But I think you have your hands full right now! :)
